Cefor analyst Astrid Seltmann gave an in-depth insight into the latest hull fleet and casualty trends in the context of the current economic and shipping environment.

Casualty trends were investigated from frequency and cost perspective and differentiated by casualty types and vessel segments. Special focus was given to observed changes in cost adjustments of reported claims which may be linked to inflation impact.

The trends are based on year-end data 2023 as compiled in the Nordic Marine Insurance Statistics (NoMIS) database.
