IUMI Conference Cape Town 2018

On on the first day of the IUMI conference 17 September the Facts and Figures Committee gave its annual update on the macroeconomic environment and shipping market (Donald Harrell, Chair Facts & Figures Committee) and the global marine insurance market (Astrid Seltmann, vice chair). In addition Dave Matcham gave a short overview over the status of the IUMI major claims database project, and guest speaker Thea Fourie, senior economist of IHS Markit in South Africa, gave a presentation on "Sub-saharan Africa: Medium-term opportunities and risks".
