Norway to implement EU Directive on insurance for maritime claims

Consultation on the proposal to implement EU Directive 2009/20 on the insurance of shipowners for maritime claims into Norwegian law is open until 25 June 2012.

Recognition of insurance certificates

In a letter to four Nordic maritime ministries, Cefor has asked for recognition of insurance certificates from all insurers registered in EU/EEA countries pursuant to EU Directive 2009/20. The Swedish Ministry of Justice has replied Cefor in a communiqué dated 2 May 2012.
